I have high bp & btw 02/08-2/22/26 I was completely out of Diltiazem. Due to huge snowstorms & extremely cold temps here/AK that hung at -45 below for 3 weeks, little was getting delivered. I was a bit concerned as I know hbp effects the kidneys. I had just had a ultrasound on kidneys & my aorta when this occurred shortly thereafter. My order for bp meds was not forth coming from MO timely like in the past. I was getting a bit anxious as my readings were from 129/82/103 to 167/106/93 & the weather was not improving. I decided to up my 40 gram Benicar from 1 to 3 x/day - M/N/night. I added to that 1-2 gummies instead of my half gummy normally taken. I gave the gummy time to filter through my system as it takes awhile. I was able to get 167/106/93 down to 154/103/98 after 4 days w/o Diltiazem. I stuck with the regiment bringing 154 reading to 148/104/102 within a few hours. From there 129/82/103 to 109/66/68. Finally the meds were discovered by FedEx after disappearing from their tracking program. After 2 days back on my combined meds my reading were more normal (for me!) 109/66/68.
I don't know if this is of any help to anyone but sometimes you just have to get creative & courageous. Please understand I am NOT a health practitioner. I just know my body better than anyone else as you do yours. I now have a better idea of what I can do if climate change hits again so hard. You know the benefits of Emily's precise measurement which makes it easier to explain to your PA if you choose to.
